Grid-work archive swap

Date
Circa 2022
Further info

Circa 2022 a handful of regular contributors ran a quiet grid-work exchange by post. Each pack held one lace sample, a photocopy of the grid map, and a note on which ball tool had done the heaviest embossing. No hired hall, just kitchen tables and a promise to photograph the result before the card went into a box.

The standing advice from that swap still holds: store finished parchment away from open hearths and unswept grates. Soot in a perforation is almost impossible to lift without tearing the vellum. Wipe the table, bag the offcuts, and keep the work in a shallow tin if the room shares space with a fire or a busy hallway.

We keep this entry on the calendar as an archive day readers can still copy at home. If you have a sample from that round, email the office and we will add it to the pattern copyright acknowledgement list.
