A Lincolnshire guild meet built around blessing-of-the-fields motifs: hedge leaves in white work, a simple path border, and a tiny church window in grid lace. Kits were packed the night before so travellers only needed a mapping pen and a packed lunch.

Rogation days still mean muddy boots in a hired hall. We asked hosts to lift the mats and wipe the floor before the first grid plate went down, then again after the walk, so soil did not sit in the perforations of a finished card. The same habit helps anyone who teaches parchment after a wet Saturday market.

Venue: village hall circuit, South Lincolnshire. Bring a towel for tools. Pattern sheet issued on the day.
